What is freedom?
Freedom is being able to choose your own actions. To choose what you say and what you do. In America we are free but I think that freedom has its limitations. I think one of freedoms biggest limitations are laws. Laws stop us from doing certain things; I think that laws give a different meaning to the word freedom. Freedom ties into the meaning of free will, Humans are “condemned to be free”-We always have a choice, people of high authority can threaten punishments after an action but they cannot physically keep somebody from doing something. In America we are free but freedom has consequences. Freedom is like autonomy. Autonomy is used for determining someone’s moral responsibilities for ones actions. Everyone puts their own meaning to freedom, there are conservatives and progressives and they look at freedom differently. Progressives believe that you should be free to date and marry who you want and not let sex or age get in the way. Conservatives believe that freely elected officials should decide who you can and can’t marry. Some people believe that just because we are free, even though we have laws, we don’t have to follow them. We can’t drink until we are 21, if you are under the age of 21 you can’t buy alcohol, and if you are 21 you cant buy alcohol for minors. That’s the law. It’s a restriction to our freedom, but if we are free we can go out and steal a car and a bunch of beer and go party. Were free so we can make our own choices, we just hope we don’t get caught. Freedom does give us the right to do that but laws give us the consequences. Freedom has many meanings it just depends how you look at it.

Freedom is a difficult concept, and I think that you have explained the complexity of the issue.

this is the same way i feel. that we are never really free because of the restrictions of laws. i really like this journal it's very intriguing.
Freedom has a lot of different aspects and explained them all wonderfully. freedom can sometime be hard to talk about but anyone that had a hard time could explain it after reading this good job
